Blackboard Instructions for Acalanes District Students and Parents
Every Acalanes Union High School District student has a Blackboard account. It uses the same student ID number and password given to students at registration. This ID and password works for both the network at school and the school Blackboard website.
Parents have access to their student's Blackboard account through a Parent Observer account. The Parent Observer account uses the student ID number proceeded by two letters (ap for Acalanes HS, cp for Campolindo HS, dp for Del Oro HS, lp for Las Lomas HS, mp for Miramonte HS) for login.

To login to Blackboard, open your Internet Browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox) and type in the following address:
http://blackboard.acalanes.k12.ca.us/
This will take you to the Acalanes Union High School District Blackboard login screen.

In the "Login Here" box, type in your student or parent ID and password and then click the "Login" button.
•After you login, you will see a screen that says “WELCOME” on the left.
STUDENTS ONLY: To find and enroll in a Blackboard course that your teacher might have set up for your class, get the access code from your teacher. Then:
1. Scroll down to the box that says "Course Catalog"
2. Click on "Browse Course Catalog"
In the search box, type in the name of your course or the last name of your Instructor. Use the drop down menu to select the correct search criteria, and click GO.
If a course is available for your class, you'll see it listed. Look to the far right of the screen for the ENROLL button next to the course name. Click that button to make sure you enroll in (not just view) your course. If your teacher required an access code, the next screen will have a box to input that code. Then click submit.
IMPORTANT FOR STUDENTS: If you want communications from your Blackboard courses, add your personal e-mail address to Blackboard. To do this, login to Blackboard and look in the "Tools" box under the "Welcome" on the top left. Choose "Personal Information". From the choices on the next screen click "Edit Personal Information", then enter your
e-mail address. Click OK when you are finished.
IMPORTANT FOR PARENTS: Change your observer account password to be different than your student's. To do this, login to Blackboard and look in the "Tools" box under the "Welcome" on the top left. Choose "Personal Information". From the choices on the next screen click "Change Password", then type in a different password (of your choosing) than your son's or daughter's. Click OK when you are finished. Your login will remain the same but the password will be your new one.
The next time you visit Blackboard, click on the login button, type in your user name and password and then you’ll see all the courses a student has enrolled in listed on the right. Click on the name of a course to enter that course site.
