Senior Parent Meeting

Senior Parents - Join us for an informative evening outlining what's ahead for the Seniors this semester. Mr. Campbell will discuss what to expect Spring semester along with behavior guidelines for Seniors.

The Parent Advisors will describe the many activities ahead including, Senior Picnic, Breakfast, Senior Ball, and Senior Reflection Night. The All-Knighter committee will share details about the work they are doing for the All Knighter post graduation celebration.

UC System - January Update
Application verification coming soon: Students randomly selected to verify information in their application were notified by the end of December 2016. The deadline to respond is January 31, 2017. A small number of students were asked to provide documentation of 7/8th grade geometry as well. Failure to respond to the request by the deadline will result in cancellation of the application.

Transcripts
If you applied to a college that requires a mid-year report (most common app schools do*) you must submit a request for your mid-year, 7th semester, transcript to be sent. To make this request please follow ALL of the steps listed below:
   1. You should have already requested an initial transcript for the college/s. Be sure the request was               submitted through your Naviance account.
   2. Order your transcript and make payment through the Las Lomas Web Store:
        a. Delivery/Pick-Up: select "please mail to the colleges below"
        b. Send Transcript: select "after first semester grades"
        c. College Name, Address and Attn: note "mid-year" and list the name of each college you                           need a mid-year transcript sent to. No need to include the address or attn.

*To check if a member college requires a mid-year report, click the name of the institution in the online requirements grid and refer to the School Forms Required section.

California Public Colleges: UC and CSU campuses do not want a transcript at this time unless specifically requested. These institutions base their admissions decisions on the "self-reported" grade information in the application. Students should check email and the web portal created for him/her by each college.

Seniors remember SAT and ACT Scores should have been sent directly to the colleges. Help is available at any time in the College/Career Center.

Financial Aid Deadlines Vary
Be sure to check with the colleges you are applying to for their Financial Aid Deadlines. Some private colleges and universities have early priority deadlines for students who plan to apply for financial aid. The deadline to file the FAFSA and Dream Act Application is March 2 for schools in the UC and CSU systems.

CSS / Financial Aid PROFILE
The filing period is open for submitting the CSS PROFILE which is required by many colleges in addition to the FAFSA. Please check the website for a list of participation colleges and universities and school specific deadlines.

Attention Senior Athletes
If you plan to play a sport in college, you need to register with the NCAA and send an official transcript. You are required to complete 16 core academic courses for Division I and Division II. Go to the website to register. See your counselor if you have questions.
