College/Career Center

The College/Career Center is an information resource center of Las Lomas High School’s Counseling Office.  Students and parents are welcome to visit and are encouraged to use the many resources of the Center, some of which can be checked out for home use. These include information on the following:

College/Career Center Bulletin
Be sure to read the College/Career Center Bulletin which is updated approximately every 2 weeks throughout the school year.  Ellen Smith, College/Career Center Advisor gives parents and students the very latest valuable information on test deadlines, college visits, help with applications, scholarship opportunities, transcript deadlines, volunteers and job opportunites, and so much more.

Scholarships
A listing of  scholarship opportunities is updated throughout the year.  Check often to see new opportunities and deadlines.

College Information Sessions, Fairs and Open Houses
Many colleges host Open Houses or information sessions in the Bay Area.  Check the event listing for the latest schedule and locations.

College Representatives Visits
The Center hosts visits by college admissions officers who meet with junior and senior students mostly in the Fall. The reps who visit Las Lomas are admissions counselors and the very people who read those college applications. Juniors and seniors interested in hearing a representative from a specific school can pick up a pass in the College/Career Center. Check the schedule of visits in the College/Career Center.

Naviance Family Connection
Naviance Family Connection is a tool to help students through the college search and application process.  At Las Lomas we will be using Naviance to communicate about scholarships, college representative visits, request counselor recommendations, facilitate the college search and application process, and more.  Seniors, use your Naviance username and password you set up last spring during your junior appointment.  Juniors, counselors will provide your log-in information during class visits this month.  If you have any Naviance questions, see Ellen Smith in the College/Career Center or Kara Bloodgood in the counseling office. Click here to log in to Naviance.
