Kathy has been at Las Lomas for the past 4 years. She is available in the school's health office to see students, parents and staff for "walk-in" consultations and for appointments during the following hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 10:00am - 2:00pm
Wednesday: 10:00am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Medical Forms
If your student needs medication at school or has a medical/health issue we need to know about, medical documentation is needed for each new calendar year. You can access many of these forms on the school nurses's Blackboard website in the Announcement or Forms sections or on the AUHSD webpage.

Wellness Topics:  Breakfast of Champions!
Parents: Want to help your students succeed in school? Make sure they eat breakfast! A large percentage of the students visiting the schools nurse's office for any reason at all have not eaten breakfast.  Keeping blood sugar stable throughout the day is like making sure there is gas in your car's tank so you can drive to all the places you need to visit throughout the day. Our students have busy, demanding schedules, and we need to make sure they are nourished and hydrated.  If your student "doesn't have time" for breakfast, please have "portables" (cereal bars, granola bars, cheese sticks, bananas, nuts, yogurt cups) easy for them to grab and take with them to eat before they start class (and maybe during brunch too!).  Remember that our cafeteria serves a variety of options for breakfast, brunch and lunch. You can sign up for My Nutrikds at www.mynutrikids.com which allows parents to deposit money on their children's school meal account so they can securely use their student I.D. card to purchase food. Please see Kathi Mooney if there is a need for free or reduced cost lunches.

Lastly, we all know that students are hungry after school. Helping make sure that they have healthy snacks available to them rather than foods high in sugar, fat and caffeine, will support better energy levels for their after-school activities and homework, as well as healthy sleeping patterns.
