Now Accepting Rummage Sale Donations
Are your closets and garages overflowing? The annual Sophomore class Rummage Sale
offers the perfect opportunity for you to clear them out and get organized. Donations are
accepted every Wednesday from 3:30 – 5:30 pm and Saturdays from 10 am – 1 pm. The
drop-off area is on the Las Lomas basketball courts located and accessed behind Whole
Foods. Sophomore parents and students are encouraged to help during the donation
UPDATES REGARDING DONATIONS:
- We are now accepting used cell phones.
- Due to storage and resale space constraints, we are no longer able to accept televisions, clothing and shoe donations. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
- Drop off day will be canceled if it rains.
College/Career Center: Updates on Test Dates, College Applications, Scholarships
The DVC Staff will be coming to Las Lomas to conduct an application workshop on Wednesday, February 29th periods 2 and 3 in the computer lab. Students should sign up in the College/Career Center after February 1st. Students will need to know their social security number, and know if they ever attended DVC at any time (for example, for a PE class or summer enrichment classes during middle school).
Parent-Teen Education Event on Feb. 7: Raising Resilient and Optimistic Children
The Las Lomas High School PTSA is proud to present an evening of education with Dr. Abby Medcalf. Dr. Medcalf will speak about the importance of raising, teaching, and supporting adolescents and children to have a positive outlook about themselves and life. This presentation will introduce you to the research and science of Positive Psychology and resiliency.
Please join us on Tuesday February 7, 2012 at 7pm in the Las Lomas Theater to hear this popular keynote speaker. There is no charge for this event.
PTA Advocacy Day March 23 in Danville
This year, we’re making it easy to take a stand for students and schools. For 30+ years, we have traveled to Sacramento to meet with Legislators. This year we bring the Legislators to you! The Annual PTA Advocacy Day: “Legislative Challenges Facing Education” will be on Friday, March 23rd at the Crow Canyon Country Club, Danville.
