In the short amount of time from when I was named principal at Las Lomas to my official start in July, I have learned of the special relationship the staff of Las Lomas enjoys with our parent community. I look forward to building on our successful relationships and continuing the strong educational, athletic and artistic programs that have made Las Lomas High School a special place.
Since I am new to Las Lomas and the Acalanes Union High School District, I think a brief introduction to my background is appropriate. I graduated from Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton then earned my bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I earned a Masters of Science degree in Environmental Education from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA. I taught social studies for three years at Dublin High and then taught at my alma mater, Amador, teaching social studies for five years. The past six years I have been a vice principal in the Pleasanton Unified School District. My experience as teacher and administrator confirms my philosophy that in order for our students to be successful parents must play a vital role in partnering with the school.
My hope and aim is nurture a positive and healthy relationship with our parent community so we can work together for the academic, athletic and artistic, social and emotional development of our students.
I look forward to meeting you this year. Please take an opportunity to introduce yourself to me so we can partner together for the success of our students.
