LLHS PTSA Endorses Measure L on the June 2nd Ballot
Walnut Creek School District (WCSD) has put a ballot measure before the voters in its attendance area for the June 2nd election. They are asking the community to support an additional $98 per parcel tax to fund our local elementary and middle schools. At this week's PTSA Association meeting we voted unanimously to endorse Measure L.
Our area school districts (AUHSD, Moraga, Lafayette, Walnut Creek and Orinda) are all underfunded by the state's current funding allocation model. It is not a spending issue; it's a revenue problem. The ONLY recourse for our districts is to generate local funding through parcel taxes. And parcel tax proposals require a 2/3rd YES vote to pass!
We do not want WCSD to be forced to cut programs and staffing, as AUHSD has had to this school year and next (to the tune of $4.2mm and counting...) because AUHSD's Parcel Tax proposal "Measure T," failed to pass by just 3 percentage points in May of 2025.
