PTSA Parent Ed Special Event
Showing of Angst, Wednesday September 5, 2018 7:00pm in the Library at Las Lomas
Angst is a 56-minute film that explores anxiety its causes, effects and what we can do about it.
Is anxiety affecting you and the people living in your community? Are you a teacher who sees many students dealing with stress or anxiety? Or a parent with children experiencing anxiety? Help break the stigma around anxiety and get the discussion started today.
The filmmakers' goal is to have a global conversation and raise awareness around anxiety. Angst features candid interviews with kids and young adults who suffer, or have suffered, from anxiety and what they've learned about it. The film includes discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, as well as help, resources and tools.

The Reflections Art Program is Here!
It’s time to get your creative juices flowing and participate in the Reflections Art Program! This year’s theme is Heroes Around Me. Students are invited to submit entries in the categories of visual arts, photography, literature, dance choreography, film production, and music composition. 2D and 3D Visual Arts includes ceramics, metal work, wood work, fabric pieces, jewelry, digital design, and much more. This is a great opportunity to exercise your creativity and enhance your college resume. You can even enter in more than one category!
The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 19.
Click here for complete rules and entry forms. Copies are also available in the Attendance Office. Note that because Reflections is a national program, it is important that the rules related to sizes and formats be followed. Click here for additional tips related to the Visual Arts and Photography categories. This packet explains the difference between 2D and 3D art, as well as the difference between a photographic collage (a visual arts submission) and a photomontage (a photography submission). We know the rules can be a little confusing. Please contact co-chairs April O’Dea or Aimee Moss with any questions. We are here to help you!
